Achaz Nytewind

The Field of bone" getötet habe.

Ist natürlich in Englisch: finely my iksar monk Achaz is dubious to all guards and warmly to the Ashen order (monk guild in Freeport). The vendors are amiably to me too :-)

And now maybe some of you want to know how I do that. Maybe you want to do that too.

First of all: get a map of Freeport. You will see that there are tunnels. You need them for fast travel between the common lands and east Freeport. Inside the tunnel under west FP there are undead that will attack you. For me (lv. 31) they are not a problem. But if you are to low they will be a problem. There are normaly 4 of them - and they attack even if they are green. So happy dying if you enter the tunnel to early.

To start the faction work is easy - and boring.

Best is to start with the Freeport Militia: They are the guards in the Common lands as in west and east Freeport. So if you want to step through the gates of Freeport you need good faction with them.

The best way to get faction with them is to do the whiskers quest. The big plus is: You only get positive faction hits (thats the big difference to the belt quests) - but you cant do it alone. And: you have to zone to do the quest - so you can't do it in wolfform because that drops everytime you zone.

OK - that means you need another character. You can start a new one in Freeport or you can bring over another Non-KOS-Char of you. Or maybe if you are really lucke you find a newbie who get the whiskers for you.

So how do you get that whiskers?
First: rat whiskers don't work. You need Rebbys rat whiskers. You need lots of them (maybe 50 to be dubious).

There is only one way to get the whiskers: Questing.

You need to go to Nestral T`Gaza in the rogue guild (in the tunnels). She will hand over a note for Rebby if you ask her about Janam and Rebby. If you say to her "Who Janam Rebby" its enough. One hint: Make a macro for it. This note you will bring to Rebby near the Theater of the Tranquil and the Ashen Order (Monk Guild). Major backdraw at this quest is: You have to zone to get there.

Additional if you do it with a character that you don't want to delete or another low level one helped you, you can do another quest at the same time - that mean your newbie char get much more exp from this. The "boring factor" don't change because of that.

Near Nestral T`Gaza in another room in the tunnels is another NPC named Harkin (or Harbin..?). Say to him "What message ?". BTW don't forget to make a macro for that too ;-)
You get a note for Janam.

With both notes you walk over to Rebby and Janam. Shortest way is:
leave the tunnels through the illusion wall via the basement of the building (up to the tavern), walk through the Port Authority, turn around and follow the wall to the right hand, walk up the ramp there and zone into West FP. Follow the wall to the left and voila - there are Rebby and Janam.

Now the tricky part: Make sure you hand over the "note to Rebby to Rebby" and the "note for Janam" to Janam.
Don't say that it easy. Be sure: If you don't check that twice you will give the notes to the wrong one. And byebye to exp - and rat whiskers...
From Janam you get another note that you have to bring back to Harkin and from Rebby you get of course Rebbys rat whiskers. This is the thing you are after. They are stackable, tradeable and not lore. So your lowbie friend or you lowbie character can collect as many of them as you want.

The note to Harkin (from Janam) you bring back to Harkin. You have time to get new coffee while zoning. At Harkin you turn in the note from Janam, say again "What message" go over to Nestral T`Gaza, bring the 2 notes to Janam and Rebby...
Did i mentioned that it is boring? Yes I mean it...

Now your lowbie friend or char have many whiskers you have to turn them it at Nestral. As long as you are dubious to her (as I arrived I was dubious) you need sneak to turn them in. Or if you are not a monk you need a nice friendly one to wolfen you.

Faster it goes if you turn in deathfist shlashed belts at the militia (of course in wolfform) - but you get bad faction hits to knight of Truth, the north FP guards. Do you want that? No?
Me too. I turned in about 16 belts (thanks to Boffin for belts and wolfform) and then continue collecting whiskers. The not so good about the whiskers quest is: the faction hit is not so big. I heard from people who turned in about 150 whiskers to become dubious. But maybe that number is changed. After about 45 whiskers and the 16 belts I was dubious to the guards.

You don't want to go out every minute to check how the Militia conn? Ok - if Nestral become amiably to you its time to check the guards.

Nice thing about this quest is: It does not only give faction to Militia. It also give faction to:
Carson McCabe (heard that is the leader of FP)
Coalition of Trade Folk (some vendors)
Coalition of Tradefolk III (other vendors)
Corrupt Qeynos Guards (guess what)

And it really don't give bad faction hits.

Ok - after hours of boring work (yes it's work) you will be at last able to enter west and east Freeport in your true iksar form. And the vendors like you: I am amiably to them. You only have to be carefull around the casterguild and Ashen order. I never go near them, and my finger tops are still over the Feign Death hotbutton.

At this moment the Ashen Order was threatently to me. North FP guards (KnightOfTruth) scouls at me, ready to attack. I don't want to try the casters guild. I feel no need to go near them.

Then I start to work at my faction for the monk guild and north FP.

There is one thing you have to do: kill orcs. Lots of Orcs. And if you see a Orc pawn kill him too and get his scalp. You will need it later (if you are a monk). You can also start collecting some bone chips.

Normaly the Orc camps are camped of course. But if you are willing to pull for the people there is nearly no one don't want you near if you make sure that you don't take the kill. I use disarm to get on the hatelist of the Orc. It don't hurt the Orc so the others get the kill. You can also use an attack that don't do much damage. You can pull for the others (many of them like that. I was level 31 as I arrived there - so I was able to always pull singles <g>)

At Orc camp 1 I twice saw a named Orc Lord Shin Ree (or something similar) He leveled me up from 31 to 32. So if he shows up be ready to safe the lives of the other people there.

If you don't pull for the others (because there are no others) collect the belts. You can sell them to other people for about 3-5pp.

If you want to know how many orcs I kill: don't know it. I only know: I used disarm to get on the hate list. And my skill was at 145 as i arrived. Now its maxed out at 165 - and not every orc have a weapon. And i made about 200pp from the belts. So it takes time.

If you want to know if the north FP guards like you: You don't have to zone into north FP (where you maybe get killed). Just check out the Ashen Order. They will like you a bit better then the KnightOfTruth.

At the moment they where indifferent (you can conn them easily from a safe distance) I try to zone into north FP an the guards there where dubious.

Then if you want the monks to like you you can do the white sash quest. I tried to do the quest with sneak, but that don't work. So I wait with that untill this point that they where indifferent to me without wolfform.

Did you remember that I tell you to collect the orc scalps? You did that? You have bone chips too? Good, now you need them. You also snake fangs - but you can buy them for about 3 copper at the vendor near the gate.

Now you go find one to cast wolfform at you. Don't forget: its gone if you zone. So it have to be cast in west FP at you.

As wolf you will be kindly to the AshenOrder (or maybe warmly I am not sure). Now you go into the monk guild upstairs to Velan Torresk. You hand him 2 Orc scalps, one bone chip and one snake fang over. And you get faction with Knights of Truth, Ashen Order and Silent Fists (Qeynos monk guild). I do that 34 times and then even without wolfform I was warmly with them. But the Knights of Truth are still dubious so the faction hit for them is not that big.

And here is one last advice: even if the big ogre vendor connes amiably as the other vendors. Don't sell to him. He pays really poor. Several times I compared his offers with the other vendors - and he always pay less. Sometimes only half of the price that the other pays.

So here i am, standing in the bank of Freeport amiably to all vendors I see.
